July 19 2011 - UPDATE FROM PMI - IMPORTANT CHANGE
As a registered education provider of PMI (R) We are committed to keeping up to date with all changes that come through PMI. As you are probably aware of, PMI has implemented a variety of changes to the PMP exam which will take affect on August31, 2011. On Tuesday July 19th, PMCAMPUS and other certified REPs were informed by PMI that there are additional significant changes to the PMP exam and results measuring system after the new exam begins on August 31st, 2011.
Amongst these and perhaps the most significant change is the decision by PMI to hold test scores for students within the first 4 to 6 weeks of taking the exam after August 31, 2011. Currently, students receive immediate notification of their scores upon completion of the exam. This decision to hold the test scores may drastically affect PMP exam students who are waiting for a test score to secure a job or new position. While PMI has assured their REPs that this change will only be in affect until mid October, and that it is necessary in order “to validate the new exam structure”, we have concern for our students who’s lives and careers may be affected by this.
Students who sit for the exam within the first 4-6 week period after August 31st, will receive email notification from PMI once their test scores are ready.
What can you do if you’re planning on taking the exam between August 31st and mid October? Students planning to take the exam between these dates can schedule to take their exam before the August 31st PMP exam changes go into effect. By scheduling your exam prior to August 31st, you will sit for the old version of the PMP and will still receive your test scores immediately.
If you are unable to sit for the PMP exam before August 31st, and need to take the exam before mid October (no exact date has been specified by PMI as of print time), you will be required to wait the 4-6 week waiting period for your exam results. If you have an employment opportunity that is awaiting your PMP exam results, you should speak with your employer to discuss your options and the additional required wait time.
We understand that these changes can affect many students who have been rigorously planning and studying for the PMP and we are here to do what we can to assist you.
Please contact PMI if you have further questions regarding this change:

BREAKING NEWS: 2011 PMP Exam Change PMP Examination Update
The Project Management Professional (PMP)® credential examination will be revised in 2011, based on updates to the professional role of a PMP® credential holder recently found by PMI Role Delineation Study (RDS).
PMI conducts a role delineation study for the PMP credential every five to seven years to ensure the credential reflects contemporary practice, evolves to meet current needs in the profession, and to comply with the PMP credential's accreditation against the ISO 17024 standard.
Exam Changes
Project managers pursuing the credential or preparing for the exam in the upcoming year should be aware that approximately 30 percent of the PMP exam will change. Specifically, the Professional and Social Responsibility content area (Domain 6) will now be tested in every domain rather than as a separate domain on the examination. The new examination is scheduled to be released on 31 August 2011. PMCAMPUS.com team will be working at updating our training content and we plan to provide access to the updated version of our training early June 2011. We will then provide full access to both the new and the old version to all our students.
This means that the last day to take the current PMP exam is 30 August 2011. Candidates who would like to take the current version of the examination are advised to schedule early to better ensure that they are able to obtain a test date before the update.
